Find Alamance County Busted Mugshots

Graham is the county seat where the Alamance County Sheriff's Office keeps its custody roster, the first stop for a current county-custody check. An arrest made in Burlington or Mebane can still land a name in that same county file. Match the booking agency and the arrest date before drawing any conclusion. A booking photo captures one moment, and charges can change in court later. Names drop off the roster after release. The trail then continues through the responsible agency, which can copy reports on request. That sheriff's roster, backed by a records request to the responsible agency, is the source of Alamance County busted mugshots, and the court file adds what happened after the arrest.

Alamance County Busted Mugshots

A mugshot is taken at booking, when someone enters the jail. Around that photo sits a fuller booking record. It can tie a name to an arrest date, a primary charge, a bond amount, and the holding facility. Alamance County's system starts with the Detention Center and the Sheriff's Office. Other agencies book people there too. Burlington Police, Graham Police, Mebane Police, and state agencies can all show up as the booking source.

The county's live roster is the ACSO P2C Inmate Inquiry. Its grid shows a display name, the primary charge, the arrest date, and the booking agency. No photo appears there. That gap doesn't mean ACSO keeps none. The Sheriff's policy mentions an internal jail database used for photo lineups, and the Sheriff App announcement lists inmate search features without promising public photos. An internal photo system and a public web feed are two very different things.

A roster entry shows what happened at booking. What a court later decides lives in a separate set of files.

The Detention Center sits in Graham. It holds people charged or convicted of criminal or civil offenses. Its stated capacity history includes a 240-bed building, a 156-bed original facility, and an 80-bed annex, for a combined 476 beds. Those are facility numbers, not a live headcount. They also say nothing about whether someone listed online is still inside. For current custody or bail questions, the detention center is the place to call.

The official Detention Center page gives the facility context and contact path. It also helps sort county detention apart from state prison, federal custody, and a city police incident report.

For jail identity and detention contact details, the official facility page is the source to trust. It is not a public booking-photo gallery.

What Alamance Booking Records Show

A roster only shows part of a booking record. The table below splits fields visible in the public grid from fields that may sit in the underlying system or require a formal request. A field can live in a jail database without being a public column. Read "primary charge" as a summary of the booking stage, too. It is not the full set of charges a case ends up carrying.

FieldWhat it can show
Display nameThe name shown by the public inquiry. Search supports last and first name, with a middle-name filter.
Primary chargeThe main charge label displayed in the grid. It is not a disposition.
Arrest dateThe date attached to the arrest entry. It is not necessarily booking time, release time, or court date.
Booking agencyThe agency tied to intake, useful for separating ACSO, Burlington, Graham, Mebane, and other agencies.
Search filtersLast name, first name, middle name, race, sex, age, primary charge, arrest date, and booking agency appear in the filter model.
IdentifiersStructured data observed during research included booking and system identifiers, but they were not all labeled as public grid columns.
Date of birthObserved in structured data, but not a guaranteed visible public column.
Booking photoNo photo appeared in the public grid observed. Ask ACSO directly for a releasable photo if one is maintained.

A written request can dig deeper than the roster. It can pin down the exact arrest, every booked charge, bond at intake, release details, a court date embedded in the jail record, property or inventory attachments, and the photo itself. Name each item you want. Be aware that ACSO may redact or withhold juvenile, victim, witness, sealed, investigative, or court-protected material. Asking for every photo in bulk would push the office to build something it may not already hold in that form.

Request an Alamance Booking Photo

Request volume is high. So ACSO requires public-record requests in writing. The main route is the ACSO Public Records page, which links to the online request form. The office says copies may be free or minimal, that actual costs can be charged, and that any fee gets communicated before fulfillment. No fixed turnaround is stated for a booking record or photo.

Keep the request narrow so staff can find the event. Give the person's full name, an approximate booking date, the arresting or booking agency, and the specific records sought. Add a booking number if you have one. Ask whether the item exists, what can be released, the cost up front, and the legal basis for any redaction.

  1. Open the ACSO records page and choose the written form or mail route.
  2. Describe one person and one date range, then ask separately for the booking record and booking photograph.
  3. Identify the agency, charge label, or booking number that can distinguish the event.
  4. Request an electronic copy only if that record already exists in that format.
  5. Save the confirmation and response, then ask the custodian about corrections or a court order if the record is wrong.

Prefer mail? Send written requests to Alamance County Sheriff's Office, ATTN: Public Records Requests, 109 S. Maple Street, Graham, NC 27253. The main non-emergency number is 336-570-6300. Detention staff answer at 336-570-6317, and the detention administration email is DetentionAdmin@alamancecountync.gov. The front office runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed holidays. Emergency services never close.

Retention has no fixed public promise. The P2C list has shown arrest dates well past a day or a week old, but no page states exactly when a roster entry or photo comes down. The North Carolina State Archives records schedule explains retention authority, while ACSO must answer whether a particular file is still held.

ACSO's written-request policy is the controlling local starting point. For warrants and court records, the Clerk of Court route is the separate one to use.

The official request form is the channel to use. Filing it doesn't guarantee a photo exists or that one will be released without review.

North Carolina Mugshot Record Law

Want the legal backbone for Alamance booking records? Start with North Carolina General Statute § 132-1.4. The statute treats criminal-investigation records as a broad category, photographs included. At the same time it spells out what stays public. That list covers the apparent violation, the identity of the person arrested or charged, and the basic circumstances of the arrest. It also carves out room to protect witnesses, shield ongoing probes, honor court orders, and guard sensitive personnel.

The practical effect is balance. A sheriff can hand out a name and the facts of a bust yet hold back the photo tied to it. Juvenile files, victim information, witness details, sealed records, and protected investigative material sit outside the ordinary booking-facts bucket. ACSO policy adds one more boundary. The public-records office will not build a new record, assemble a fresh dataset, or reformat something into a file type it never used in the first place.

Is there a state law forcing every county to post booking photos? Or banning the practice outright? No such enacted statute exists. Nor does North Carolina have a standalone rule against pay-to-remove schemes. House Bill 778 surfaced in 2023. It never became law, so treat it as a proposal and nothing more.

Section 15A-152 covers some paid criminal-record dissemination. It builds in a notice-based path to delete covered material. Read the text for what it is. It does not order every website to scrub every image. Someone with a qualifying record change should work through the custodian, secure a court order if needed, and follow the publisher's documented free process. A demand for money proves nothing, and paid-removal middlemen have no role in the official records path.

Expunction is a different animal. This court process can limit how a record spreads afterward. The North Carolina Judicial Branch expunction page, plus its forms collection, lays out the test. Eligibility turns on the charge, the outcome, key dates, prior record, and the statute involved. An order can direct agencies to remove or restrict covered records. It cannot make a private copy vanish on its own.

For a genuine error or court-ordered change on a third-party page, Busted Newspaper's free removal and correction route is one documented channel. Mugshots.com also describes a free update path for qualifying cases. The RecentlyBooked local page and the Arrests.org statewide index showed no confirmed free opt-out. Mugshots.zone had no Alamance section. A publisher's policy is not an ACSO correction and never substitutes for an expunction order. Pay nobody just because a page asks.

Old search result pointing at fixed or deleted content? Save the source URL and your proof of the change first. Then use the search engine's own outdated-content process. De-indexing is its own step, separate from repairing the original record.

How to Find Alamance Recent Arrests

Custody status decides where to look. Freshly booked people tend to surface on P2C right after intake. Once released, a person drops off the live roster, but the booking record still lives with ACSO. State prison time puts someone in the DAC search instead. Federal time means the BOP locator. No single page covers all four situations.

  1. Search the ACSO P2C Inmate Inquiry by last and first name, or use its filter.
  2. Compare the name with arrest date, primary charge, and booking agency. Do not identify someone by a photo or age alone.
  3. For a current custody or bail question, call the Detention Center at 336-570-6317. The P2C FAQ warns that initial bail may not be the latest amount.
  4. If no photo appears, submit a narrow written ACSO request for the specific booking photograph.
  5. Use the official Alamance court page, court portal, and criminal calendars for later case events and disposition.
  6. Use DAC, NC SAVAN/VINELink, BOP, or DHS channels only when the custody state fits that system.

Alamance County has no official page listing each day's new bookings. ACSO press releases pick and choose based on newsworthiness. Burlington puts out media releases, Graham publishes weekly crime reports, and Mebane keeps its own police records. Each answers a distinct question. Mashing them together into a fake countywide latest-arrests list would mislead, so resist the urge.

Where Alamance Mugshots Appear

Start with official sources. They name the custodian and the custody state. Third-party pages can point you toward a lead, but they can also sit stale for months, miss entries, mislabel a charge, or stay up long after a release or dismissal. Treat them accordingly. No page here runs a photo gallery or rehosts a booking image.

The ACSO home page anchors everything. Detention, records, press releases, and statistics all branch from there. Two secondary stops sit outside that official tree: the Mugshots.com Alamance page and the RecentlyBooked Alamance page. Treat both as leads only. Check anything you find against ACSO and the courts.

Busted and Booked: The County Roster

The P2C Inmate Inquiry gives the public its closest official window into Alamance County custody. Enter a last name and first name. Lean on the filter controls when a name is common. Columns include name, primary charge, arrest date, and booking agency. Filters go further, too: middle name, race, sex, age, primary charge, arrest date, and booking agency. A narrow search is easy to build.

Search inputUse it carefully
Last and first nameBegin with the narrowest known spelling and check more than one result.
Arrest dateUse it to separate events, but do not treat it as booking time.
Booking agencyMatch the agency to the arrest story or report.
Primary chargeUse as a search clue, not a final court finding.
PhotoNo photo appeared in the observed public grid; request one separately.
  1. Open the official P2C page from ACSO’s Inmate List link.
  2. Enter the known name and apply the list filter.
  3. Read the arrest date, primary charge, and booking agency together.
  4. Call detention staff for current custody or bail because the roster can lag and the initial bail may change.

Do not mistake the roster for a same-day or seven-day busted feed. Older arrest dates show up in the grid. ACSO publishes no fixed retention rule or refresh schedule. What you get is a current inquiry list with entries that linger unevenly, not a tidy log of who got booked last night.

The Alamance County Sheriff NC app listing adds another access point. Its announcement mentions Inmate Search and Inmate Information. It promises no live photo stream, no release alerts, and no picture for every person. Verify through the web roster or the detention phone line.

The roster capture illustrates the search interface itself, and its missing photo column shows why a separate records request may be the next step.

Recent Alamance County Bookings

Alamance County does not publish a live bookings feed from the sheriff's office. The P2C roster shows no posted refresh time, so nobody can promise a same-day or 24-hour list. Someone booked an hour ago may not appear yet. Others get released fast or fall under a protected-record rule. For an urgent question, call 336-570-6317.

Think of the roster as a current inquiry list that changes without warning. It was never meant to prove that every arrest from the prior day shows up online.

No official weekly blotter exists for Alamance County. ACSO press releases pick newsworthy events. Burlington posts selected media releases, while Graham's weekly crime-data table counts incidents with NIBRS descriptions rather than jail bookings. Mebane handles reports and complaints instead of a daily arrest roster. Without a documented feed, weekend surges and archive timing simply cannot be measured.

When the roster falls short, file a records request instead. Name the person, the date range, the agency, and the record you want. The court route covers later case details. Skip third-party lists dressed up as official data.

North Carolina DAC Offender Search

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction search tracks state prison offenders, probationers, and parolees, with history going back to 1972. County jail information is expressly excluded. So DAC matters once a person enters state custody or supervision, not for a fresh Alamance booking.

The public form takes a last name, first name, middle initial, sounds-like surname, offender ID, gender, race, ethnicity, a date-of-birth range, an age range, and active or inactive status. An offender ID beats a common name every time. There is no public booking-photo field or photo policy. DAC is an official status search, not a mugshot source.

For a lawful photo or record question, reach DAC through its public route with precise identity details. The state contacts are 214 W. Jones Street, Raleigh, NC 27603; 5201 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 27699-5201; 919-733-2126; and relay 919-866-3665. These are state numbers, not the Alamance detention line.

Booked, Released, or in State Custody?

Custody labels trip people up. Trust the agency that owns the current status. An old web page tells you nothing about where a person sits today.

NC SAVAN and VINELink send custody notifications by phone, email, text, or TTY across participating North Carolina jails and Adult Corrections. They alert; they do not store images. The federal BOP locator publishes no nationwide booking-photo roster. ACSO's ICE link goes to the DHS Victim Notification Program, which proves nothing about an ICE contract or detainer roster in Alamance.

After an Alamance County Booking

A booking file ends where it ends. The court record picks up the rest: first appearance or arraignment, calendar dates, filings, disposition, and sentencing. Start with the Alamance County court page, the North Carolina court portal, and local criminal calendars. A calendar entry just marks a scheduled event, not an outcome.

Keep your dates straight. Arrest date, booking date, filing date, first appearance, court date, disposition date, sentencing date, and release date can all differ. "Disposition" is the court's recorded outcome. "Arraignment" is an early appearance where the charge and process get addressed. "Bond" is a release condition or amount, and it can change. "Expunction" is the state's process for clearing or restricting eligible records.

Read the court disposition before describing any outcome. Charges often shrink or vanish entirely as a case moves forward.

Need a court copy? Use the Judicial Branch public-record request route. ACSO sends arrest and search-warrant requests to the Alamance County Clerk's Office or the Administrative Office of the Courts. Returned warrants, indictments, criminal summonses, and nontestimonial identification orders fall under § 132-1.4(k), unless sealed.

Busted Mugshots by Alamance City

A city name doesn't always point to the jail. Burlington, Mebane, and Graham each run their own police channel. Still, a city arrest in county custody gets tracked through the Alamance detention system. The booking agency field is your best cross-jurisdiction clue, so check it first.
